Meaty Mondays #1 - Biltong Salad

Welcome to the first installment of Meaty Mondays, our weekly guide to alternative ways of eating your Biltong!

Biltong Salad

We'll start simple with a Biltong salad, possibly the healthiest dish you'll ever get from us, and in our opinion the best way to make a healthy salad that bit more exciting.


Basically you should make a salad and add some Biltong, but if you're looking for a little inspiration, here's our version, everything but the Biltong is optional!

  • Biltong

  • Lettuce - little gem and rocket

  • Spinach leaves

  • Cucumber - halved and sliced

  • Cherry or Baby Plum - halved

  • Avocado - sliced

  • Onion - thinly sliced

  • Feta Cheese - cubed

  • Strawberries or Water Melon - small cubes

  • Whole Cashews

  • Olive Oil - just a drizzle, and a good single origin one

  • Balsamic Vinegar - same as the olive oil, a good one

  • A sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste

As with all food, the better quality the ingredients the better it will taste. That doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune on them, just get them fresh and know where they come from, but we'll come on to provenance in future blogs!
